The best household item I have.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted the agitator model machine that actually washes the clothes clean and I got it, with this Amana machine. I absolutely love it and have called my friends and one of them has already went out and bought one for herself. No more impeller disk at the bottom of a basket that rotates with very little water to not clean your clothes. My Amana is what I looked for-found-and washes in a timely manner, I timed it at 30 minutes your clothes are clean instead of running and running and running your electric bill up for nothing and I just couldn't be happier. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Awesome American made machine simple yet stellar advanced technology with the auto sensing water level fill feature to save on water but also you have a choice for deep water clean witch fills up to the max water level for really soiled loads. Another great feature is the setting clean with afresh in which you drop in a tablet of Afresh or bleach and the machine cleans itself so you don't get a moldy nasty water smell like other washing machines get after years of use. So for the price and all functions plus American made you can't beat this Awesome Amana washer A++ from this hard to please customer

Auto Sensor , hate it.
I bought this about a month ago. I am not impressed with the Auto Sensor. I have noticed some loads could stand a little more water. I would like to be able to adjust the water level without having to use the deep water cycle. The deep water cycle is too much water on some loads. Maybe Amana could have med water cycle and deep water cycle! That way if more water is needed, you could add some more water. Other than that, It is a nice washer. It is energy efficient after all. My next washer I will make sure it does not have the Auto sensing capability. I would Maybe recommend the washer, If the water lever would work better at sensing the right amount of water.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent value When my Samsung washing machine broke right after the warranty expired, I found it was going to cost more to fix than to replace. So I asked the repair guy if he were buying himself a washing machine what brand would he buy, he said nothing but a Amanda. So I took his advice and got an Amana, it’s an amazing washing machine, it doesn’t excellent job, and it does it way faster than any other washing machine I’ve ever seen. The design is simple so a lot less bells and whistle whistle’s to break and cost money. I highly recommend this washing machine to anybody looking, not to mention it’s a great price

Worst washer I every had
I have had this washer for a couple of years. I bought it because I had an Amana years ago and it was a great machine - lasted many years trouble free. This one has already had to have repairs. A few months ago I realized it only works on one setting and that one does not spin out. Delicate setting results in dry clothes at the end of the cycle. I have to run a final spin again to get it to finish. Last night I washed a load and a little later closed the lid as I usually do. Now the lid is in closed in lock and will not open. Holding in the button for 3 seconds to reset does nothing.

Great basic washer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this 2 Months ago and I love it, I just wanted a basic washer with no computer chips or anything fancy. This washer senses your load and fills the water accordingly which saves water and energy. My only complaint would be that if have to wait for the rinse cycle and add softener manually but if you use dryer sheets then it isn't an issue. The wash cycle is very fast but does a good job of getting my clothes clean. It doesn't over-agitate my clothes like the MAYTAG washer I just sold. The capacity is awesome as well, you can easily wash a queen size comforter set or large rugs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, this was not the machine I wanted but it has proved to be efficient. We were limited in space and front loaders and larger high efficiency non agitator machines would not fit. Also we were very challenged to find any matching set of ANYTHING in stock anywhere so we settled for this. The lines are c,ean, it looks good and does seem to clean very well. However it does not have a fabric softener dispenser which I truly miss and the wash/temp selections are basic This is definitely a no frills machine but if you are looking for something inexpensive that works well, this would be for you

Fits in the available space & does the job
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The machine was bought in replacement of a GE model that is no longer being made; and we were appalled to find that machines generally are being upsized to such an extent that only a limited number of top-loaders would fit in our limited space (upstairs in an antique cape house) without serious compromise in capacity. The Amana machine is doing the job for the past month; and while others might call it "a little noisy" compared to other makes, it is much quieter than the aircraft engine-like sounds coming from the GE, whose main bearing was failing for the past 3 months of its 8-year life!
