Sleek[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about 5 months ago during a renovation. I initially had an issue with a faint skweeking problem on the freezer drawer. The repairman came out as soon as
I contacted Kitchen Aid and the issue was resolved. I would like the interior of the drawers to look a little more finished but overall very happy with the purchase. The ice maker comes automatically however i also bought a KitchenAid ice maker so the ice maker in the freezer drawer was not needed. It is however nice to have should I need additional ice. For the most part it is turned off however. Very pleased.

So Far, So GoodI read a lot of negative reviews about this product, but took a leap of faith during our remodel because it is the only one of its kind on the market (fridge/freezer/icemaker combo). After three months of heavy daily use, it is still working great. I do think it could be designed a bit better inside--the rubber mat causes the beverages to wobble/clank against each other and the attached divider reduces the capacity due to the limited arrangement options. The ice is large cubes, I prefer the small nuggets like the KitchenAid refrigerator's ice maker, but it produces ice fast--a full bin overnight. One final thought ... why wouldn't this come in print shield? It looks terrible compared to my other KitchenAid print shield appliances. But overall, it is a great product.

Terrible Quality ProductWe purchased this product along with a KitchenAid French door co8nter depth refrigerator wh3n we remodeled our kitchen in 2013. In 5 years we have spent nearly as much in repairs as it would cost to purchase the appliance new. We have had to replace the control board twice. We are also on our 3rd icemaker in the French door unit. I am so sorry that we ever purchased KitchenAid appliances. They are so unreliable.

Ok, but . .This fridge looks good and does function well for the most part. But, as noted by others, it’s alarm system is finicky. If you close the top drawer and forget to then give the bottom drawer a nudge to make sure it is snugly closed, odds are you will get an alarm in ten minutes or so. Sometimes even if you follow this two-step process, you still get an alarm. Frustrating. Please don’t just tell me you appreciate the feedback, give us a solution or tell us we are just outa luck.

Good solution for small spaces[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had two of these refrigerator/freezers installed in a recently renovated condo kitchen about two months ago. The plan was to maximize the counter space while providing adequate cold storage for 1 or 2 people. The drawers provide easy storage of fresh and frozen food. The design of the freezer drawer does not lend itself for some foods, like large frozen pizzas, but packages of veggies and meat store easily. The fridge drawer works well with the addition of plastic trays or baskets so small items can be stacked. Milk cartons and juice bottles fit upright.
The reason for one star reduction was two fold. The ice maker is a space eater in the freezer. While handy if you use a lot of ice, it is slow to refill the bin. I only use one of the ice makers and turned the other off and use the ice bin to hold bags of frozen veggies. The mechanism that makes the ice takes up about 25% of the freezer drawer space. Previously this refrigerator/freezer was offered with the option of no ice maker. I would have used that option for one of the units, but it was not available at the time of purchase.
The second reason for the one star reduction is the extremely cold refrigerator drawer(s). I set the refrigerator temperature to 42 degrees (warmest possible setting) to keep food from freezing in the fridge drawer. The drawers stay between 32 and 36 degrees. Meanwhile the freezer is running from -5 to 20 degrees when set at around zero. I used digital maximum/minimum thermometers to monitor the drawers for 2 months. Tweaking the freezer temp colder will cool the fridge drawer and freeze fresh food. These are not intended for long term frozen food storage, but are good if you are a regular small basket shopper.

Wheelchair & Guest Accessible[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The unit is very quiet! We love it! It is used primarily for a wheelchair-bound person who can't access our standard refrigerator, and for guests in our coffee/beverage area. The ice maker was a must. There was a screw frozen into our first batch of ice but it doesn't seem to have been important!
The only issue we have is that the ice in the bottom freezes into one large block of ice; then the new ice overflows and gets pushed out behind the unit and sometimes keeps the drawer from closing. A person in a wheelchair can't reach in to clear the ice jamb. It would be nice if we could set it to not make so much ice that it overflows.

Makes Beeping Noise Constantly[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this refrigerator a year ago. Since installation the refrigerator has constantly made a beeping noise indicating the drawer is open, but the drawer is not open. Finally, we had the repair service come out and they said it was the control panel. THe control panel was replaced and this did not fix the problem. Not happy with this purchase.
