Worth the wait
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We waited eight months for our dishwasher. Thankfully, a dishwasher is probably one of the few appliances that isn’t needed right away (that is, we could survive without it). The new one replaced a KitchenAide that lasted 20 years. Thus far we are happy with the new one. Since there’s only two of us, it doesn’t get run every day and sometimes dirty dishes sit in it for several days before we run it. So far, even without rinsing a thing, even the dirtiest of dishes are coming out spotless. We’re still experimenting with the best way to load it for us. We’ve put a variety of items in it such as casseroles, mixing bowls, even a flower vase. So fa, so good!

Fantastic!! NO prewash needed!!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thing is AMAZING!! Bought this a couple months ago because I was sick of needing to prewash, and still having food stuck on my dishes. With this dishwasher I don’t have to prewash at all and everything comes out completely clean and spotless. Even if it’s dried stuck on oatmeal, or other baked on residue. Plus, it all comes out completely dry too! It reminds me of how dry dishes were before energy saving was standard on everything. Plus, the third rack is now legitimately useful. My old dishwasher’s third rack couldn’t even fit the vast majority of my kitchen utensils, at best a lid or two. Now I can fit cups and any of my cooking utensils in the top rack. This is my favorite kitchen appliance right now, and by far the BEST dishwasher I’ve ever owned!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The third rack idea was genius. Capacity much expanded and everything is sparkling clean. Hard to know when running it is so quiet. The display of time remaining until contents are clean is unique and helpful. Options for more intense cleaning and longer drying times are nice options for differing contents to clean. Features on racks for glasses, wine glasses, bowls ,cooking utensils, pots/pans, and plates of all sizes well thought out and strategically placed. Multiple spraying arms cover all three levels perfectly. And the lights inside are a very nice touch.

New kitchen, new dishwasher
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did not think that there was any way that the 3rd rack was going to provide much more space given that dishwashers are the same size...I was wrong. The extra rack pulls about 8-10 large cups and mugs that would normally have taken up space on the 2nd rack. We were also concerned about the racks being too close together, but that's not the case - there were some platters that we put in the bottom rack that were too big, but moving the middle rack up cleared them, and everything came out clean. The ProDry makes dishes dryer than any other dishwasher we have ever owned.

We decided on this one because of the pro air drying system and availability. I am so glad that we did! I wasn't sure how I felt about the third rack and interior lights when we bought it. While the interior lights are not necessary they are nice , I am thrilled with third rack- no pools of water on the cups and glasses and having it doesn't seem to take away from the functionality of the second rack. Besides the roominess the cleaning and drying are superb. Imagine plastic items that are actually dry at the end of the cycle!

Love the deeper 3rd rack - so much more capacity!!

Best Dishwasher on the Planet!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I could write a book about how great this dishwasher is...but no one would read it! Quite simply, this is the best dishwasher I've ever used. Even better than the very nice dishwasher with the German name in my last house and I didn't think I'd ever see one better than it. Kitchenaid really outdid themselves with this one.
But let me get one thing out of the way...the manual is terrible. It's a one-size-fits-all for several models and it's just bad. Some information is hard to find, other stuff is spread out over various locations in the manual. Come on Kitchenaid, you can do better.
Aside from the manual, what's not to like. It's quiet, energy efficient, stylish, effective, adaptable and informative. One great feature is the countdown graph that shows the progress. Another is the 3rd (upper) rack. It's actually useful! You can fit certain glassware and cups up there that won't fit in others.
The center rack is adjustable, there's room for plenty of flatware, many of the tines are angle-adjustable...there's just so many good features it's hard to remember them all.
The first thing I really noticed when I unboxed this dishwasher was the amount of insulating batting that surrounded all sides (except the front, of course). It did make for a tight fit and I had to tape it down in a few spots to keep it from wanting to bunch up during the install. Aside from that, install was a breeze. And all that insulating material makes this dishwasher whisper quiet. I have to be standing right next to it to even know it's operating.
Fortunately, learning to do a basic wash was pretty intuitive because...did I mention the manual is terrible? It's also neat that you can shut off the water to the lower rack if you just have lots of glasses and such to wash. This is a high-end dishwasher that's really worth the price of admission. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a new one.
