Rated 1 out of 5 by from How do you clean the ENTIRE INSIDE of the oven? This range replaced my JennAire range. I have had it less than one year. This was the only option with a downdraft. After cooking two turkeys for Thanksgiving it needed cleaned. The AquaLift technology only cleans the BOTTOM OF THE OVEN!!! What about the rest of the oven and the racks? The cleaning instructions say to not use oven cleaners!!! The store technician advised Dawn dish washing liquid and a soft sponge. I have spent hours on the floor bending around the door wiping!! This is not self cleaning at all!! Service of a product is just as important as the product. I would never recommend this range.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Install issues I am a appliance installer, I had the chance to install this range. I was unable to do so due to the poor design of the venting system The Fan is so large there is limited space to vent the unit down. My situation had a floor joist in the area the vent pipe needed to be placed. It has always been difficult to get a dual fuel range to sit flush against the wall due to gas and electric lines obstructing the range from sliding completly back, Now you add a poorly designed venting system, that will also cause issues to slide the range all the way to the wall. Has any of your designers ever installed one of these ranges in a real life situation?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Griddle is not as ggod as as it could be We have had this a few weeks now. It replaced an older JennAir downdraft modular range. The oven works well, and the stove top works for most conventional applications. We use the griddle for cooking bacon and pancakes on weekends, but it is quite inadequate. It is very small so I can only fit half as much on it as I could with my old JennAir (so it takes twice as long to cook). The griddle uses heat from two burners but since the back burners are smaller, I need to use different settings on each burner to get even heat. The small burner on the left side is too small to boil water so I believe it is only intended as a 'keep warm' item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice looking stove This was replacement for 21 yr old Jenaire. After having to redo gas line, electric box, cut island and modify opening for down draft it looks and works really well. Only cons are like other reviews the downdraft fan blows out flame on low and draws flames toward center on other settings. Also don't like the way you have to clean oven but seems like most have the same features for self cleaning. I don't see how boiling water and cleaning out by hand can even be called self cleaning. Haven't tried it yet but with back problems and age I'm not looking forward to it. If you need downdraft you don't have many options.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great appliance The only reason that I didn't give this all five stars is because of the difficulty in installation. I was hoping that this unit would fit in the same space as my old Jenn Aire downdraft. Unfortunately, it did not and the new cabinetry had to be rearranged to accommodate the new unit so that I could use the existing plenum system. Also, the old Jenn Aire system used a 6" exhaust whereas the new KitchenAid uses a 5" that has to be phased into the 6" system under the floor. Seems they could have stayed with the old system. That being said, I am very happy with the performance and appearance of my new purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great design with dual fuel benefits. I love the look of our new downdraft slide-in stove and particularly like having the great benefit of a gas cook top and the consistent temperature of an electric oven. The downdraft system was necessary since we created an island around our stove and lost the overhead cabinets and exhaust hood. We did find however, that even on high, the downdraft was only capable of pulling approx. 20% of the visible steam (see photos) coming from a 4-1/2" tall pot of boiling liquid. Consequently, most of the steam and smell of cooking food was staying in the kitchen. I did a little experimenting and fabricated an exhaust extension which raised the height of the exhaust opening and redirected the pull of air toward the pot. Considerably more of the steam was now being exhausted. A vertical telescoping exhaust extension (manual or motor driven) capable of being positioned slightly higher than the cooking pot being used, would be an effective addition to the exhaust system. Just a thought. Bill McKay

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent range I bought this range in November last year. The only drawback is the gap between range and counter I ordered the trim kit from the appliance dealer and waited 2 months to get and then it was not correct. This was very disappointing that KitchenAid does not make a trim kit to fit their range. The range is a bit pricy to not have an option to complete the look. For the price it should come with a trim kit that matches to fill the gap between range and countertop [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Customer Service & So Far Love the Range In my opinion, professional installation is a must on a downdraft. This range replaced a 25 yr old Jenn Aire that I was milking it because I loved the grill feature. They no longer make the grill range so I went with this one and so far, I'm impressed, Had a small problem with gas grate as it was a little warped when it arrived. Called customer service and had a new one in 4 days! Wow! Range is easy to use and the convection oven saves time. Just need to use a grill plate or grill pan to get the same results of the previous grill function that I thought I would miss. Easier to clean that way too!
