Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad we bought the cooktop When shopping to replace our failed Jenn air cooktop, we were considering all of the leading brands-- GE, Bosch, Jenn air, and Kenmore. I read the reviews of many models within these brands, and found reviewers complaining of problems for all these brands. The leading problem was cookware compatibility. I went to cookware sites like WS, and read what readers shared regarding compatibility of various brands. I saw the fewest issues with kitchen aid. I was a little leery about buying another kitchen aid appliance, given the bad luck I had with one of their refrigerators. We've had the cooktop for a few months now and are very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast heating and fine heat control We have had the induction cooktop for about 5 months and have been super pleased with it. Easy cleanup - nothing gets cooked onto the surface as with a traditional resistance element. VERY fast to heat the contents of a pan and the heat control is predictable, instant and very fine grained. Easy to use, love the "simmer" feature. Make sure you obtain the glue for mounting the install rails to a solid surface countertop, it isn't included with the cooktop. Fairly easy to install but you need to pay attention to get the height right so the cooktop is supported by the rails underneath and NOT by the glass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A novel cooking experience! This purchase was part of a kitchen re-model which included all new appliances; I am very pleased with this series. Its clean lines, efficiency, and performance complement all the other pieces. Induction cooking is new to me and the learning curve continues but that's because I used traditional electric stoves for over 40 years. The power boost feature is impressive! The cooktop is easy to clean and the temperatures seem to run true, though after two months I'm still working on matching the numbers with the amount of heat that the induction process creates when compared to using a traditional electric stove.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from BURNER SIZES I BOUGHT THIS MODEL BECAUSE OF THE TWO 7" ELEMENTS BEING ABLE TO BRIDGE. NOT KNOWING YOU CANT FIND A GRIDDLE THAT WILL FIT. THEY ARE EITHER TO LARGE 0R TO SMALL. THE ELEMENT SIZES ALSO ARE NOT SIZED AROUND STANDARD INDUCTION COOKWARE. THE SALES MEN ARE NOT TRAINED TO BE AWARE OF THIS. I THINK THE BETTER OF THE TWO 30" INDUCTION COOK TOPS WOULD HAVE BEEN THE MODEL THAT DOES NOT BRIDGE AND HAS A WIDER RANGE OF ELEMENT SIZES. I AM GOING TO SEE IF KITCHEN AID WILL EXCHANGE MY UNIT. IF NOT I WILL TAKE THE LOSE AND PURCHASE FROM A DIFFERENT COMPANY. BEING A RESTAURANT OWNER I EXPECT PERFECTION IN MY COOKING.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't miss this one. I have the advantage of being in the foodservice business. I purchased stand alone induction cooking units 6 yrs. ago and have literally gone away from any other cooking option. Imagine boiling over pasty water or a cheese sauce that just wipes up with a paper towel, without scrubbing, ANYTHING. No "hot" tops to worry about with small children running in the kitchen. Energy efficient, quicker time to boil and sauté. Sure you need a pot or pan that magnets stick to but you'll appreciate the better quality of the pan and it will last longer and will not warp as they do on ceramic cooktops when you set the burner higher than necessary. And they said Star Wars hade all the neat high tech stuff.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Less Than Two Years and Needs Expensive Repair We purchased this cooktop two years ago and it already needs a repair that will cost close to the price of purchasing a new one. RIDICULOUS! Two burners on the right side are blown and from what I understand we need to replace one of the three power boards. We'll see, could be more to it. So disappointed. For the price we paid and the technology I was hoping for a product that would last at least 10 years like my old GE cooktop.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good purchase We bought this unit several months ago, and in general are quite pleased. The responsiveness is amazing, and controlling boil overs is very easy. Pasta water boils in a fraction of the time. When boil overs do happen, its super easy to cleanup, as the pasta water does not dry as a residue. Finding a new set of pots that were not too heavy was a bit challenging, but we found a cuisinart set near us that work great and were not too expensive. Also the large burner is hard to find a pot for, as the stove will not work unless the pot size is close to the burner size. There were reports of clicking and buzzing noises, but these are very subtle and not annoying, in fact they help you know the stove is on.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Need a Griddle for the Induction Bridge Feature So far I like the induction cook top, have had it a month and a half. I need a griddle to do pancakes that will fit the bridge burners. Would like it coated for easy cleanup. Please give me some suggestions to look at because I cannot find one anywhere even on your website. Speaking of that, I did see the picture of a griddle you have on your website with the induction cook top section that has vegetables grilling on the "bridge." It would appear the grill/griddle used is much bigger than the bridge, which only measures 15 1/4" by 7 1/4". Can the griddle be bigger than the bridge cooking surface because I don't believe there is a griddle or grill out there that fits the "well" touted "bridge" feature? I will rate this higher if you can produce a griddle to use on the "bridge."
