Knobs and lettering -- cheap, cheap, cheap!!36" propane cooktop. We can a lot of food so the cooktop has seen very heavy use. The "superboil" feature is apparently negated when used with propane as food will boil faster on the smaller BTU burners. However, boilovers are very common as well even on the smallest burner. My biggest gripe is that the cheap plastic knobs all broke at the stem within one year and the lettering around the knobs is coming off. On the plus side, it is fairly easy to clean. I would not recommend this cooktop if you use propane and/or will be using it heavily.

Cheaply made knobs, expensive to replace.In the 3 years I’ve had this stove top, 3 of the knobs have completely broken. LG charges $51 each to replace some cheap piece of plastic, so beware. Also, the numbers around the knobs has completely worn off. Very disappointed, as all of the knobs on my previous 20 yr old whirlpool stove were completely functional.

The Numbers around the knobs has worn offI purchased the 30" gas cook top in December 2009. The numbers around the knobs started to wear off right at the 1 year mark. It's not from over use but just wiping around the knobs with a wet dish cloth has worn the numbers off. Other than the numbers wearing off, the cook top delivers and cleans up nicely. The grates are very sturdy and easy to clean.

Just InstalledWe are in the process of redoing the kitchen. I had to get a cook top as the new granite was being installed. I was looking for a 5 burner to replace the 4 burner that we have and be stainless. I ordered online without looking at one and what a great surprise when we opened the box. The look is just what we were looking for. Love the heavy cast grates and the 5 burners. Be warned this is stainless and the grates are cast and will scratch the appliance if you are not careful. The LED on the controls is a great bonus. With the low simmer setting it is easy to forget that it is on. If it performs and good as it looks this will be a top rated appliance in our house. Now just have to buy 4 more to finish.

UnhappyI'm not very happy with this product very expensive and spills won't clean , I spend a lot money already to purchase stain steel products but nothing get the spill mark off. The cooktop looks very nice but the surface looks very cheap and easy to scratch with anything. Very disappointed with this purchase.

Knobs always breakingWe remodeled our kitchen 2 years ago and replaced all appliances with LG. I had been extremely happy until 2 months ago when one control knob cracked on the Stainless cooktop. They are ridiculously expensive to replace, but I wanted the cooktop to look nice not cruddy with knobs missing, so I purchased it. Two days ago my husband was cooking and informs me there are now 2 more knobs broken. They are plastic and not manufactured to hold up to the rest of the cooktop. Very disappointing. Until this point I highly recommended LG appliances to everyone who saw our kitchen remodel. I will have changed my opinion since this problem surfaced. I included photos and when taking those, I found the last 2 knobs are also cracked in several places. Those are burners we never use.

Good functions[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cooktop works great and has excellent use of cooktop space for a 30" unit. My only 'minor' complaint is that it scratches very easily and I do not like plastic knobs.

Impressed with features! Not so much with racks[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first I absolutely loved the cook top. It is so sleek and modern! The gas flow control is superb. Cleaning unit is a breeze.
Now for the disappointment: within the first week the black racks were scratched... I have expensive pots and pans. They did not scratch my previous racks. It seemed the paint seems to have peeled/scratched off
