A good unit that needs installation improvements
this hood is very sleek looking and has good functionality. i just installed it today so it's too soon to comment on reliability but i'm hopeful.
installation however was not great. the instructions tell you to mount the chimney bracket flush with the ceiling, but when i did so, the holes in that bracket and the holes in the chimney for screws do not line up with one another. the interlocking chimney sections also scratched the finish of each other when i had to lower it back down because they did not line up.
the entire unit is also wrapped in a "laser film" that is waaaayyy too sticky. not only is removing it an arduous endeavor, but it will leave your unit covered in fingerprints despite it being billed as fingerprint resistant.

Excellent performance but poor wi-fi interface
I purchased this hood and the Gas Cooktop NA30N7755TS/AA together. Both appliances work very well in standalone configuration.
After considerable effort, I was initially able to pair the units (both BT and wi-fi) and establish a connection to SmartThings App that allowed me to use IPhone to start hood fan, control fan speed, turn hood light and timer on/off and monitor burner on/off. However, several days later, upon registering the products at Samsung website, I lost SmartThings app access to all feature controls except monitoring burner on/off.
Tried deleting registered appliances and re-registering, deleting and reinstalling SmartThings app, even deleting Samsung account and creating new account with new email and password, all to no avail. SmartThings can still only tell me if a burner is on, hardly important!
In short, the appliances themselves are top notch, but the feature I paid extra for, wi-fi control by way of SmartThings, is essentially useless. And since the Samsung website does not support efficient navigation to technical support via chat, phone or email inquiries, my overall satisfaction is reserved because I can't get the wi-fi to work as it initially did and there is no easy way to contact Samsung for technical assistance.

Auto feature only triggers at Low power. Useless.
automatic feature only triggers at low power, which is too weak that makes it completely useless. this setting cannot be changed. also the auto feature stop the vent immediately after the range fire is off, this totally did not make sense because the cook smell won't stop immediate at the second you turn off the fire. the vent should be kept on for 20 seconds after fire is off. again, no setting can be adjusted. so much technology so poor execution without any provision for user customization. i wish i can get a refund for this expensive stove and range hood set.

Cannot use as the re-circulation kit is not available
The specs clearly show this can be used with the re-circulation kit where outside venting is not possible. However no one, including Samsung can order the part (NK-AF030FNB/AA) as stated in the manual. So right now it's sat in a box not being used

Defective Guts
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] bought this hood and cook top to match in 2017 and put in storage because of complete remodel. just had it installed last week and its short circuiting inside the motor box and out of warranty.

Lights Stopped Working
Just after my warranty expired the LED lights stopped working. You can press the button, it makes the obnoxious click sounds it's supposed to make, but no lights turn on. The problem was intermittent at first, but now I can press the button 20+ times on and off with no lights.

Wifi is a lie
this product does not have wifi connectivity.
it only has bluetooth.
you need to pair with the cooktop to be able to connect it to the smartthings app.
i bought a range that only has wifi so they won't work together even though this website suggested it would.
