Keep LookingWe had a Samsung front loader for 8 years and never had an issue, so when it stating making loud noises when in the spin we had it checked out. It turned out that the drum bearings failed and would cost more to repair.
So after reading the reviews and the history of Samsung we decided to change from a front loader to top.
What a mistake ~ this machine make more noise that our old with failed bearings. We also purchased the matching dryer and it’s much loader than the old Samsung.
If you plan on having the machines on the outside of your home, you may find you will like your purchase.

Just avoidJust avoid this machine. We regret it. Almost $1K for a machine that broke just after the 1 year warranty. The machine wouldn't spin or drain. Turns out the master control panel went awry. Really? In the technology? I expect better from Samsung and believe this should be part of a recall. The part are out with their own distributor, J & J international parts. Seems to me there,s a lot of these being ordered if you're out of them... just saying. This makes me think twice about Samsung before buying and we've bought a lot of Samsung!

leaves dirt in the bottom of basketI bought this about 5 months ago, and have never really loved it. If I don't wash a load every other day, my laundry room starts smelling musty. If I wash "dirty" clothes (from mountain biking, so there is actual dirt in the clothes) there is dirt/mud left in the bottom of the machine after I take the clothes out. Last night when I pulled the clothes out, there was still soap and fabric softener all over my clothes, and it was not a very large load. I ended up having to run a rinse/spin cycle just to rinse out the clothes so I could put them in the dryer. I only use about half the recommended amount of fabric softener, and still there is slimy residue inside the container where you pour the softener. I don't feel like this gives any agitation to the clothes, they just spin around in a circle. My old front-loader did a much better job.

I was warned by a friend and she was rightforget about it -- save yourself money, time and grief. washer is not even one year old and already experiencing major breakdown. on top of that, got the runaround from samsung care on providing proof of purchase. first they told me document submitted was good -- 4 hours later, not good enough. wasted entire day and now i've been without a washer for 4 days. samsung may take a week to get someone over to service my washing machine. this appliance -- thought large in size and capacity -- cannot handle large loads. if you try that, guarantee it will slowly start to break down. first adventure with a samsung appliance and for sure the last.

Must have significant design flawspurchased this machine and matching gas dryer in feb 2018. looks beautiful and loved the pre-wash basin to help preclean my kid's sports uniforms and socks. for the past 10 months we have had nothing but issues with an error code 8c (mems sensor). we bought an extended warranty with the machines and best buy has been out 4 times in the past 10 months to replace the memory sensors (twice), motherboard and motor. we haven't been able to use it for a month. at this point we are going to scrap the machine. i would stay away from samsung appliances in general from now own as we didn't fare any better with our kitchen appliances.

Wonderful capacity, lots of features.[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this machine. It has a capacity that allows us to wash loads that were twice the size of my old front load, without compromising the washing effectiveness. I have little ones in football and grass stains, and this has no problem cleaning even the toughest of stains. There are also alot of cycles that help with different types of garments. The only things I dislike is the washer does seem a little noisy at times, and I really wish there was a delay start available. But, all in all, I would recommend this product for anyone looking for a large capacity machine.

Broke in under two yearsso disappointed with this product and samsung. i will never buy a samsung product again and i will tell all my friends and family to stay away from samsung. i bought this product less than 2 years ago and the washer has completly died. had service tech come out and paid them $125 to tell us the control board is bad and it is $600 to replace it. called samsung and the representive told me i should have bought an extended warranty on it. yes its my fault that i didnt but i thought the product would last more than 2 years for the $1000+ i spent on them. i will replace this product with a better brand and stay clear from samsung and never buy any of their products ever again

Great Features, which need work and refinement. SLOW wash cycles. Steam leaks. Smart App terribleThe top 3 features that attracted me to this washer were that it had smart connectivity to control your wash cycles; it had steam; and it had the active wash sink.
Smart Connectivity: You can connect to the washer from your phone via wifi. You MUST use the Samsung Smart Home App to do so (available on iOS and Android). The app, currently, is horrible and clearly not much development went into it. If you are lucky enough to get through the set-up, the app constantly logs you off, requiring you to re-connect every time you open the app. It will give you notifications when your cycle is finished, but it does not play any tones. It only gives you a little pop-up, which is very easy to miss. (no, there are no settings to change this). Also, in order to control the washer remotely on your phone, you must MANUALLY push a button on the washer each time. Once you push this button, it locks the wash door. I have played with this a few times, and found to lose the ability to control my wash cycle in the middle of the cycle for some reason. Clearly, they need to get their coders on this. The app is VERY limited in functionality at this point, and very buggy. So if you are buying this washer for this feature, beware that it may not work as you expect it to.
Active Wash Sink: This is a great invention, and works as advertised. No complaints, but be careful when you are washing in the sink as water spills out very easily.
Steam: When you use the steam function, condensation builds up on the top glass panel, and leaks out of the sides of the machine. It seems like Samsung did not think of using any rubber gaskets to seal the steam in. It's not much, but you will get a few drops/streams of condensation running down the sides.
VRT: This is supposedly "Vibration Reduction Technology", but from my experience, the washer vibrates rather violently on the spin cycles. To the point where the entire washer rocks/shakes violently.
Wash Cycles: Beware, almost all wash cycles besides "delicates" will take over an hour. Steam Sanitize is a 2 Hr 40 Min affair!!!
Other than these issues, the washer seems good so far. My biggest concern is the violent spin cycle vibration/rocking/shaking, as many washers have been recalled for problems where this leads to catastrophic failure. So I will keep an eye on it. But so far, it seems ok.
