Rated 4 out of 5 by from another replacement [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well wasn't expecting to have to replace my estate by whirlpool but it didn't owe me anything after 20 years of service. This will be my 2nd clothes washer & hope this one will be as good to me as the last. Tub was deeper than expected & certainly fit more into this than my old one. Also the agitator is slimmer which also helps allow for bigger loads. only drawback to this is that you have to put laundry in before filling the tubas usually fill the tub as I add my load to this. And need to get used to the new sounds as these definetly run differently than previous version.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy So Far [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven't owned my new washer for very long but am pleased with it so far. I especially like the large capacity and that I can still open the lid for awhile into its cycling (unlike my previous Whirlpool). It takes a long time to get the job done but I think that's true with all washers now. I wish I could set the water level but, again, I guess we just can't do that any more. It surprises me that such a low level of water can get the job done. I just think there should be a manual override for when I think more water is needed (for towels and blankets, for example).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just Perfect [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After my washing machine of 17 years found it's way to appliance heaven I was overwhelmed by the features and complexity of today's machines. I wanted a good machine, but I wanted a basic machine with a choice of water temperatures and the basic cycles that I need, This machine offers the features I wanted plus some, without being so overloaded in features that it is complex or confusing. It is just perfect. Cleans the clothes well, doesn't waste water and is easy to operate. Very pleased with this machine and would recommend it to anyone looking for a new washer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage My apartment manager replaced my washer with this. It does not even auto sense. I have trouble shooted all ways even though maybe knob was installed wrong and thought maybe high wash was low? The graph drawing shows deep wash all the way to under first flipper of agitator... ahhahahahah not even. Washing a large load or medium load is like washing everything on a small wash. I use HE tide and my private is feeling horrible. My teen boys clothes stink , my daughters skin is itching. Even opened kid half way through and a shirt and robe on top was dry while it was spinning. Junk.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOISY (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I have this machine in my basement and can hear it when it is filling up it has a loud knocking sound when filling starting and stopping. Also doesn’t matter what setting I put it on for water, extra water and extra rinse clothes come out with lint ex: twin THIN comforter and twin set of sheets on heavy load comes out with lint even after extra rinse. Would NEVER buy another. I can’t even exchange it at the brick because no trial period. Going to sell if I can

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not pleased with features. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I have used my washer for a few months now and love how dry the spin cycle leaves the clothes dry. However I have found the washer leaves a white residue on dark items, to the point where I have to rewash items. I am using the proper HE detergent and have adjusted the AMT used but it hasn't corrected the problem. I would like to have a feature to set a specific time for wash vs preset timer. In addition i would prefer being able to select the water level rather than auto sense as even the deep water wash and rinse does not always provide sufficient water level.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful machine [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this a few weeks ago because the old one had a leak. I’ve been told to stick to simple appliances because the more features it has leads to more things that can go wrong and become costly to fix. The one feature that is different on this one compared to my old is the auto sensing water fill which is great because no matter the setting you choose, it will only fill the amount of water needed for the load. So if you need to wash like 3 things it won’t use as much water as say a full week’s worth of clothes. Hoping to see a reduction in the water bill.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unbelievably poor quality, horrible noises inside [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace a year old Maytag that sounded like it was going to pop through the wall. Little did I know that Whirlpool and Maytag are the same company, and this was not an upgrade like I thought. It sounded as though someone was inside with a jackhammer. I played this video for a repairman and he said "That ain't right!" When the movers broke the control knob and I found it would cost $261 for the part, AND I would still have to fix this noise, I just bought a SpeedQueen and could not be happier.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sturdy (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) My only issue I have with this washer is it doesn’t add enough, to my satisfaction, water to do a load/cycle of laundry. Even selecting Deep sensing cycle doesn’t add a lot...I’ve lifted the lid & checked a few times and the clothes aren’t even covered with water! other than that I’m satisfied with the washer. Also, when we first had the washer I did my mattress cover, I added bleach in the appropriate but when the load was finished there were a lot of black spots on the mattress cover. I had to wash it again several times for it to become entirely clean!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible washer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had 3 previous whirlpool washers that lasted15 years each with 4 kids and a dog and they cleaned the clothes perfectly. The NEW HIGH ENERGY EFFICIENT WASHERS ARE HORRIBLE. The tub is HUGE but it doesn’t give you enough water to submerge the clothes to get them clean on any setting. I sent the first one back after I had it for 2 weeks. I got a different whirlpool and it’s just as BAD. If I could get my old one back I would surely have it fixed and keep it going. The jeans came out with this powdery film on them and I use liquid HG detergent. HATE IT.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I am very happy with my new washer. It has loads of room and can take a lot. I have yet to try washing anything really bulky, like a bedspread, but based on what I have seen am pretty sure it will handle a job like that with ease. Controls are clear and I like the fact that electronics are kept to a minimum. I am caring for a chronically ill family member so am washing small to medium sized loads each and every day. I am still getting used to how long the various cycles are but that's about the most difficult aspect I can report. Clothes are consistentlt clean and much dryer when finished than they were from my old machine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty great for the value! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For the value of the washer - you really can't go wrong! It washes the clothes very well and allows you to do fairly large loads without any issues. People have complained about it being loud, but I don't agree with that. If there is any 'complaint' it's 1. I find that it takes a little longer to get washes completed than I'm used to. 2. The sensor for the water level works fine - it just takes a while to get used to not having complete control of your water level like the older washers. Other than that - it's a fine product and recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great performance and looks [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this to replace my previous 17 year old unit. I decided on this brand mainly because of the quality and it is the same manufacturer of my previous washing machine. I prefer the more 'manual' type operations as I have had problems with the more electronic units. The only feature that I don't like is the one small push button to start the washer as it seems a bit on the cheap side. It also makes some odd noises as it changes cycles (which is explained in the manual). But these are not enough to be a deal breaker at the price I paid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent features! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I bought this washing machine a month ago. It took me a few times to get used to the different sounds, not selecting a water level ( it does it for me!) , so no excess water usage. The HUGE wash tub was the selling point for me, along with it having an agitator ( old school here). I was unimpressed with 1 wash cycle, removing dried mud from a coat but a little hand scrub, and back in, and it was fine. The tub handles a large load easily, as well as a Queen sized comforter. Only down side I'm concerned with, is the start button. It seems flimsy, and I worry it will break . Beyond that, I'm so far impressed, and happy with my purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the large tub and the bleach and fabric softener dispensers . This machine cleans as well as my old one. The quick wash cycle is my favorite and my clothes come out clean. I read the reviews before I purchased this model so I knew it was noisy. The noise doesn't bother me. I do not lift the lid because I don't want to see how little water it uses. The Progress lights are a nice feature. I couldn't be more satisfied. Thank you, Whirlpool, for manufacturing quality products.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Large drum and gentle agitation (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I have only had the washer for a month and so far I am quite pleased. My only complaint to date is the length of time for a wash cycle. The quick wash cycle is my "go to" for this reason. Unfortunately, these new machines have eliminated the timed dials which allowed us to choose the length of time needed depending on the condition of the clothes being cleaned. If the reason for these long cycles is efficiency, it makes no sense if the amount of hydro use is doubled .

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lasted one and a half days I had it delivered on Friday ran two loads ok. I tried to run a load on Saturday. It failed on the rinse cycle with the rinse light flashing. I tried about ten more times on evey setting on the machine. I emptied all the wet clothes and tried it again on the auto settings and normal load and it failed to drain and spin again. It is level, not overloaded or out of balance. Now I have two piles of soaking wet clothes. I want my money and five hours back

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Way too LOUD [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Would not have purchased if I had known how LOUD this washer operates! In addition to the noise, the "controls " don't really let you control anything. The auto fill and deep water fill are the same. Also, clothes had to be put on spin cycle a second time as so much water was left on clothes! And, the complete washing cycle is very long. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing as I would have picked a different Made in USA brand, shouldn't have trusted Whirlpool on this purchase! I did want a washer with an AGITATOR like this one and there were few to choose from- the agitator doesn't seem to do much movement and there are too many components that can cause problems in addition to the aforementioned issues!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Love it!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our old washer died. I had to find another one quickly. I told the salesman I wanted another Whirlpool. He had 2 in my price range. This one with an agitator and one without. The agitator was a lot smaller than my old agitator so the tub seemed much bigger. The washer is much quieter. I love the feature that adjusts the water level to the load amount. It has extra cycles that I only use occasionally but it's nice they're there when I need them. I am surprised at how much I have enjoyed this machine so far. I'm so glad we bought it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Washer Purchased Feb 2019, Still getting used to all the new setting. It's doing a good job cleaning my clothes. My old Whirlpool of 19 years old was replaced by this new model WTW4855HW this past February 2019.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good experience but... (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) The machine worked well while it worked. I used it twice and then "bam". It was not working anymore. The "electric board" broke (I think that's how they called it). It took a month to have another one. They wanted me to wait another month or. Finally the store sent me another one. Now I have almost a week. It does work well. A little slow but it seems to do a good job. I will have to come back later to let you how it performs after a longer time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use features [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My new Whirlpool He is easy to use. Chose this brand as my Whirlpool Estate washer was between 15-20 yrs. old. Getting use to all the new features which are easy to understand especially that He machines take so little He detergent. Need to track laundry loads so I know when to use the cleaning cycle. Only wish I had an actual manual rather than a sheet of paper that came with it, as I am unable to download the one suggested. Only had this washer for 2 weeks, so far very pleased with it especially the capacity of the tub.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Washing Machine #2 (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I’m on my second of this machine. I don’t like the soft push button features. My first machine stopped working just months after the original warranty. Luckily I purchased the extended warranty. Unfortunately I had to buy a replacement machine as the parts needed to fix the original would take weeks/months to arrive. I wish we could go back to the basic washing machine, no computer/memory boards. They worked better and lasted longer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't like the sensing features at all [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this washer s couple of months ago and am not happy. The sensing features don't allow enough water to fill in the tub, which is large and deep enough to seemingly handle a fairly large load. The constant stop and start of the water causes loud banging in the pipes. I wish I had been able to repair my old Whirlpool washer that could handle large and small louds with the appropriate water levels without all the stops and starts of the sensing features. To say I am disappointed and frustrated is an understatement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Laundry done quicker & clothes are cleaner! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We've only had the washer for a few weeks, but we are very pleased with it! The options for water, & rinse cycles cover any type of wash load we have. It's great to be able to get a load of laundry done much quicker than our previous front-load machine. Very happy with this washer!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very dissapointed We bought this washing machine one year ago. We have had nothing but problems with it and have had technicians come on 3 occasions now. Despite new parts being ordered and installed (on a 1 year old machine) they machine constantly makes a loud clicking noise. We are very disappointed with this product especially as we have many Whirlpool products in our home. It has gotten to the point where we are tired of scheduling service appointments and just dealing with the constant noise.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ease of use but noisy [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought it 4 month ago. First time wash startled me with a contant noise of a moving basin back and forth which is quite laud. Secondly the water level sensor is contactly stopping and letting the water go as it is sensing the water level. The old washer had the water intake one and this was it. This contant checking of the level and letting go is noisy as well. Loose belts (like loose dress belts) and other clothes are getting tangled around the agitator during spin cycle. I should have bought the front load machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my new washer! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this washer as a replacement for my 16+ y/o washer. This was a replacement AHS warranty sent. When searching for washers, I noticed most top loaders we're more than 4cu. ft. This washer is 3.8cu.ft., and I have to say it is definitely large enough for a medium size family. I noticed the strange noises that were mentioned in alot of reviews and I don't think they are excessive, just new technology. Other than the plastic hood latch (that looks like it will break quite easily) I think this is a good product made by a good company. I have only had my new washer for a few weeks but if it lasts even close to my old whirlpool I have made an excellent decision!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the Right Size I just had this washer delivered and after reading the instruction manual I soon learned how to use the washer. It really is not difficult. The washer makes some different noises as it goes through the cycles that are different from my old washer but the manual states that is to be expected.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Washing machine [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] She wanted a simple inexpensive washing machine that she could put wash in add water put in soap and set the water level. The machine is supposed to adjust water level automatically but sometimes clothes aren’t covered with the water.
